This week, the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games kicked off in Lloydminster, and SOUTHLAND Edmonton is proud to transport Saskatchewan’s best athletes representing their districts across 14 different events.

The six days of action total see archery, canoe/kayak, golf, softball, bocce, swimming, tennis, and volleyball during the first half. The last three days will feature athletics, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, and triathlon. Soccer runs every day of the games.

We have 20 drivers and 20 buses on site, along with five support staff. The drivers, all from Edmonton, have shown exceptional professionalism. We should also recognize Pat Nickerson, Donna Crowle, and Alex Fawcett, who have been working with the drivers, standing out in the blazing sun, and helping to ensure the safe offloading of the athletes.

Yesterday, we received a very nice review from one of the game’s organizers.

“I wanted to pass along some feedback I received from the Swimming Coaches – ‘the transportation was great, and everything worked very well.’ Thank you so much for all your work on transportation, as it is a big job. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.”

From July 21st through 27th, over 2,000 athletes, coaches, managers, mission staff and officials, more than 800 local volunteers, and upwards of 5,000 visitors will gather in the Border City to celebrate seven days of sport, culture, and community. SOUTHLAND is proud to support one of the province’s premier sporting events.
