On June 4 and 5, Heritage Park hosted the annual AMA School Safety Patrol Appreciation Day Picnic, celebrating Calgary-area patrollers with SOUTHLAND’s safe rides and support. The event honored students’ dedication to safety with fun, food, and appreciation.

Over two incredible days, SOUTHLAND Calgary safely transported more than 130 busloads of student patrollers to and from the park without a single safety issue. That achievement is a direct result of careful driving, attention to detail, and commitment to keeping our passengers safe every step of the way.

As the sole carrier for the event, SOUTHLAND worked closely with the Alberta Motor Association, Calgary Board of Education, the Calgary Catholic School District, and the Calgary Police Service. Calgary Charters Supervisor Chris Curry saluted his entire team and Southland’s dedicated drivers for ensuring the event went off without a hitch.

“I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your outstanding professionalism and dedication during our recent trips to Heritage Park for the AMA School Patroller picnic. Your role in this event was absolutely essential. The smooth coordination and safe travel of so many young students would not have been possible without your efforts. You helped make this a memorable and positive experience for everyone involved.”

Our Safety Team expertly managed the parking lot for the staging and parking of all buses. This was an en masse event, where the buses do not move until ALL buses are loaded and unloaded, making organization and timing extra critical. Thank you Sarah McIntyre and the entire Safety Team!

We are very grateful to all of the drivers and support staff who came out to help make this another successful transportation experience.
