Whoop-Up Days kicked off on August 20th with a colourful parade through the streets of Lethbridge, and for the third straight year, SOUTHLAND was right in the middle of the festivities! Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch 90 entertaining entries wind through the city streets for over an hour.

Our theme this year was “Growing Tomorrow’s Future,” and it was a great day to walk 5 km, interact with parade onlookers, and join in on the excitement of the five-day Whoop-Up Days and Pro Rodeo. We were all very proud to secure 1st place in the parade’s Large Commercial category!

Special thanks to our Parade Committee – Trish Zwingli and her son and daughter, Shawn Sawa and his two daughters, Donna Kalau and Diane Herrick, Anthony Rodzinyak and his two daughters, and Donna Hart-Murchison.

We would also like to give a big shout-out to our parade walkers – Art Tamminga, Trish Zwingli and her kids, Scott Levenne with his daughter and granddaughter, Anthony Rodzinyak and his daughter, and Ken Britton.

The parade is always a fun time, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
