On October 5th, The Man Van mobile health clinic set up shop at London Drugs in Medicine Hat from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Southland Transportation was on site with a bus to provide a comfortable waiting area for those looking for a free blood test used for early detection of prostate cancer.
In all, over 70 men took advantage of the free service and Southland was proud to support this important men’s health initiative. Thank you to the Medicine Hat Prostate Cancer Support Group for helping organize the event, and to Southland driver Gerald Marple for bringing the bus to serve as a comfortable place to hang out before and after the blood testing.
The clinical team from the Man Van also offered a mental wellness check which assesses depression and suicide risk and symptoms.
