As record inflation and high interest rates continue to strain family budgets, many parents find themselves struggling to afford the essential school supplies their children need. This year, the most requested items include backpacks, water bottles, lunch bags, pencil cases, erasers, glue sticks, binders, notebooks, and gym shoes – items crucial for students but increasingly difficult for some families to purchase.
Southland Transportation Halifax has once again stepped up to support the community in response to this growing need, marking the fourth year we have participated in the Royal Lepage Anchor School Supply Drive. This past Saturday, three dedicated Social Committee members – Bill, Ronalda, and Tasha – joined forces with Royal LePage Anchor Realty and FX 101.9 Radio to collect school supplies and cash donations.
Their efforts were met with overwhelming generosity from the community! The 4th Annual Royal Lepage Anchor School Supply Drive raised $25,000 in cash and donations to help the children of the Halifax Regional Municipality go back to school in confidence! Southland was proud to be part of this event and extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and hard work.
